After a long odyssey across the California mountains - yet much was due to snow - we are arrived in Sutter County, where John Sutter in 1848 sawmill, gold was found and so triggered the California gold rush. Sutter was a Swiss but later lost all his property back.
We went gold panning and have actually found gold!
